One of the most popular hiking trails in the High Tatras. The trail starts at Štrbské Pleso (only 8 km from the campsite) and follows a comfortable forest path along the Hincov brook all the way to Popradské Pleso. The trail is approximately 4.5 km long (one way) with an elevation gain of 260 m. Suitable for families with children, the hike takes about 1.5 hours.
Tatranská Štrba – Štrbské Pleso (Furmanec)
An easy hike starting right from the campsite! It begins in Tatranská Štrba and follows the Furmanec trail to Štrbské Pleso. The route is 5 km long with an elevation gain of approximately 400 m. The trail offers a quiet spruce forest atmosphere and beautiful views of the Tatra peaks. An ideal choice for an active morning.
Ascent to Rysy (2,503 m a.s.l.)
A legendary hike to the highest peak in Poland, located on the Slovak-Polish border. The ascent starts from Štrbské Pleso or the Popradské pleso stop. The trail is about 12 km long (round trip) with an elevation gain of over 1,200 m. It passes by the Cottage by Popradské Pleso (or Majláth Cottage), Žabie tarns, and the Cottage under Rysy. From there, the route continues through the Váhy pass to the summit of Rysy. This is a challenging hike that requires good physical condition, but the reward is panoramic views of the entire Tatra mountains.
Hrebienok – Rainer’s Cottage
An easy hike from Hrebienok (about 25 km from the campsite) to Rainer’s Cottage. The trail follows a paved road and forest paths, and is approximately 3 km long (one way) with an elevation gain of 200 m. Along the way, there are beautiful views of the surrounding peaks and waterfalls. Ideal for families with children and less experienced hikers.
